Luke Bryan turned 31-year-old fan Colin Gould into the star of the night when he brought his Word On The Street Tour to Vibrant Arena at The MARK in Moline, Illinois, on Friday, July 10, inviting him onstage to show off his dance moves before surprising him with the gift of a lifetime: free tickets to all of his concerts for life.
Colin Gould, a father to 1-year-old son Carver, attended the concert with his wife, Lexie Gould, and their close friends Alex, Peyton, Drake, and Jake after deciding to go to the show “on a whim.”
A Night Out Turned Into A Viral Moment
Like the thousands of other country music fans inside the arena, Colin and his wife were enjoying themselves and soaking up every moment of Bryan’s electrifying set.
“I was dancing on my wife. I had a few drinks in me. We were having fun. We had a babysitter [watching our son at home] and we were feeling the moment,” Colin explained to Music Mayhem.
His dancing caught the attention of Luke Bryan from the stage, so much so that he couldn’t resist stopping the show to invite him to join him on stage. Pointing toward Colin and his wife Lexie, he joked, “Ma’am, do you know him?” After she confirmed she did, Bryan laughed and said, “Come up here real quick.”
As he joined Bryan onstage, the “Country And She Knows It” singer joked, “Did y’all see what he just did to his wife?” Bryan continued joking with Colin about his dance moves, telling the Iowa native, “You realize that you just took your a** and you knocked your wife up four levels of stairs, and you used your a**… you just humped this woman’s shoulder right there.”
Colin Proves He Didn’t Need A Dance Lesson From Luke
Bryan then teased Colin about his dance moves and the country superstar, known for his signature hip-shaking performances, decided to give the fan a quick tutorial in “shaking it.” The country hitmaker then asked the band to play a snippet of “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” which Bryan altered the lyrics to Colin singing “Country Boy shake it for me.”
As it turned out, Colin didn’t need much instruction and he immeditately began shaking his hips and buttocks with confidence, sending the crowd into a frenzy and making Bryan laugh so hard that he had to stop singing. “This is so damn fun,” Bryan admitted at the time.
The dance party only escalated as Bryan launched into Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose.” Colin embraced the moment, using the entire catwalk to showcase his dance moves, including the worm and splits, while earning a massive ovation from the crowd.
“Give it up for Colin one more time!” Bryan said, applauding his dance moves.
According to Colin, getting Luke Bryan’s attention wasn’t part of the couple’s plans at the concert. “We had no idea he was looking at us. We realized how close we were when we saw all of the videos but we didn’t think he would ever see us,” Colin continued.
Looking back now, Colin admits he never expected to find himself onstage with Luke Bryan, dancing in front of thousands of people. “I had no idea he would invite me on stage. My wife and I were just going with the flow having one hell of a time and then I knocked her over unintentionally!” he explained. “I think that’s what got Luke to ask me. She’s okay and wasn’t surprised at all.”
Once onstage, Colin says the energy from the audience helped ease his nerves, even though he was admittedly nervous and ended up ripping his jeans during the performance. “I was nervous as hell but I was just being myself. Loved every minute of it. Took it all in. My adrenaline was so high. The crowd helped. They were hyping me up! It was awesome. I don’t think I’ve ever done the worm in my life! My jeans are torn doing the splits! Those pants are going on the wall of fame.”

Meanwhile, his wife Lexie could hardly believe what was happening. “I think she was in shock. Lexie couldn’t believe it. She loved it and was having so much fun [and] she thought I was going to leave her for Luke! She was recording the entire time. We’ll have one hell of a story to tell our son and future kids.”
Free Luke Bryan Concert Tickets For Life
When the performance came to an end, Colin shared a hug with Bryan before Bryan smiled and said, “Colin, you earned a beer, you crazy son of a gun.” Bryan handed him a beer, which Colin promptly shotgunned onstage as the arena erupted in applause.
As Colin made his way back toward his seat, Bryan reflected on the unexpected moment. “I thought that was gonna go awful, but it went way better than I was expecting.”

Then came one final surprise. Impressed by Colin’s unforgettable performance, Bryan announced, “Colin, for that, you get free tickets to my concerts for life.”
Looking back, Colin says he was still trying to process everything that had happened. “I think I was still living in the moment! We haven’t gotten an update on the free tickets yet, but even without that, it was already the best night ever.”
When he finally made it back to his seat, there was only one thing he could think and that was the question of “what the f**k just happened.”
Colin Admitted That It Was The “Best Night Ever”
Since the show, videos of Colin and Luke Bryan have gone viral across social media, with fans praising his dance moves and going along with the moment. The experience even earned Colin a new nickname from fans online: “redneck magic mike.”
If Colin had the chance to say one thing to Luke Bryan today, his message would be simple. “Love you brother. Best night ever. Let’s go hunting, and fishing. Next beer on me,” Colin concluded.
