The Rapture continues tonight, Sunday, August 2, at 9pm, on BBC One as forensic psychologist Gabs Fox (played by Ruth Madeley) continues to try and get to the bottom of 17-year-old Bethany Krall’s (India Amarteifio) claims of being able to predict catastrophes.

She is also wrapped up in the fact that Bethany insists that she didn’t brutally murder her mum two years prior, which landed her in the psychiatric institution.

But as fans continue to watch The Rapture every week, another forgotten “wonderful surprise” is already available that’s perfect for supernatural and thriller fans alike.

The six-part series in question is the 2011 drama The Fades which has been hailed as “one of the most brilliant British shows”.

The Fades, which is ready to stream on BBC iPlayer, revolves around 17-year-old Paul who is plagued by apocalyptic visions when he realises he can see spirits of the dead.

But when one of these restless spirits crosses back into the world of the living, Paul is forced into a fight in order to prevent the apocalypse.

At the time of its release on BBC 3, someone said the channel “has struck gold again with The Fades.”

Another commented: “Just gets better and better… a classic unfolds before my eyes.”

“Every now and then a diamond comes along, a series that achieves excellence in so many departments that perfection is within reach.

“This is one of those diamonds. What a wonderful surprise.”

Meanwhile, someone else likened it to iconic shows such as The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones “where the plot escalates and grows in complexity at the end of each episode.”

But The Fades may not be for everyone as a viewer warned: “Due to supernatural violence and mature themes, this show is not suitable for younger audiences or the faint of heart.”

Paul is played by Coronation Street and Agents of Shield star Iain De Caestecker, who is joined by Lucifer star Tom Ellis, Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer.
