‘I thought it was crap’ – Wayne Rooney issues brutal verdict on World Cup final half-time show live on BBC
WAYNE ROONEY gave a stinging verdict on the World Cup final’s “crap” half-time show after the showcase received mixed reviews.
Organisers pulled out all the stops for the glamorous show as Madonna, Justin Bieber, Shakira, Ted Lasso and even The Muppets made appearances.
But former England captain Rooney wasn’t impressed by what he saw and made his feelings known.
When asked what his favourite moment was, he told BBC Sport: “I’ll be honest, when it finished.
“I like a lot of them artists, but I thought it was crap.”

Rooney’s candid response left BBC’s World Cup final panel in stitches as presenter Gabby Logan, Micah Richards and Joe Hart all struggled to contain themselves.
He was hailed as a “national hero” by fans for giving his honest thoughts.

Rooney’s comments were hailed by one fan, who said the comments summed up his punditry.

It comes after fans poked fun at the Manchester United legend for losing his voice while dissecting Spain’s semi-final win over France.
Rooney’s voice started to crack while saying how Pedro Porro had enjoyed “a fantastic tournament”.
And his fellow pundits Richards and Hart both couldn’t hide their laughter during the comical moment.
The Manchester United legend eventually witnessed Spain win the World Cup after Ferran Torres scored an injury time winner.
