Princess Beatrice will be celebrating her 38th birthday soon; however, this year, it will allegedly “not be an easy one,” a royal author has claimed. Beatrice will turn 38 on August 8; however, the celebrations are tipped to be very low-key compared to the extravagance of some of her previous birthdays.

The princess has been keeping a low profile in recent months following her parents’ humiliation last year. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson was stripped of their titles due to the disturbing details surrounding their seemingly close relationship with US paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. Early this year, new documents released by the US shed fresh light on the ex-couple’s relationship with Epstein, sending a huge wave of embarrassment through the York family as well as the Firm.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing, and Ms Ferguson is said to still stand by her stance after publicly condemning Epstein.

While Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, were not affected by the embarrassing revelations relating to their parents, at least in terms of their royal standing, both sisters have been keeping a very low profile this year, only making one public appearance in June to attend the wedding of Peter and Harriet Phillips.

Now, as Beatrice’s birthday is just a few days away, a royal expert has delved into what the day will be like for the princess.

Royal author Andrew Lownie told the Daily Mail: “Much has changed for the York family since Beatrice’s last birthday.

“Her father remains under, in effect, house arrest in Norfolk with the possibility of being charged with sharing confidential information, her mother probably still in hiding abroad.”

Mr Lownie added that while Beatrice’s previous birthday oozed extravagance, this one will be a lot more scaled back.

For her 18th birthday in 2006, the princess donated a £10,000 dress flown in from New York and had an estimated 500 guests “dancing until 3am” in Windsor Castle. The overall cost of Beatrice’s birthday bash was estimated to be £400,000.

Mr Lownie said: “The Victorian theme was chosen because Beatrice was born at 8.18pm on August 8, 1988. Guests included Harvey Weinstein, Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein.”

For her 28th birthday in 2016, Beatrice held a bouujee affair at the Hamptons in New York, joined by high-society friends including hotel heiress Lydia Forte and oil heir Mike Hess.

However, this year is a completely different one for the princess who reportedly faces “uncertainty” regarding her future.

The author said Beatrice’s future within the Royal Family is “fraught with uncertainty – compounded by ‘the state of her title, her marriage and her business activities which may be resolved by the time she celebrates her birthday next year’.”
