The family of Dominick Bianchi is mourning an unimaginable loss after the 35-year-old newlywed was found dead in a wooded area in upstate New York, days after disappearing from his home.

Bianchi had married his wife, Julianna Zyra, just four months earlier. He vanished from his East Greenbush home on Tuesday, Sept. 8, leaving behind his cellphone, wallet and car and prompting an urgent search involving police, volunteers and members of the local community.

His body was discovered Sunday in a wooded area, bringing a heartbreaking end to the search.

“Every family has its share of great joy and profound sadness,” Bianchi’s father-in-law, Larry Zyra, said in a statement to News10. “Four months ago, we experienced the joy of welcoming Dom into our family, and now we feel the intense pain of his loss.”

Larry described Bianchi as a husband, son, brother, nephew and friend who would be deeply missed by many.

“Even in this darkness, there is light,” he said.

Family Thanks Community for Search Efforts

The family expressed gratitude to the people who rallied around them during the search, including neighbors who left notes, brought food and coffee, and offered words of encouragement.

Larry also thanked the police officers and volunteers who spent time looking for Bianchi, including a group of young boys who joined the effort on bicycles.

Before Bianchi was found, police had asked residents to check their properties and review surveillance footage for anything that might help investigators determine where he had gone.

Following the discovery, authorities expressed their sincere gratitude to everyone who assisted with the search.

Wife Had Made Tearful Plea for His Return

Bianchi’s disappearance had prompted an emotional appeal from his wife, who desperately asked for help finding her husband.

Julianna said Bianchi had been struggling with mental health issues. His family was also concerned because he had type 1 diabetes and they feared he might not have his insulin with him.

The circumstances surrounding his death have not been publicly disclosed.

The Rensselaer County Medical Examiner’s Office told The Post that it would not release Bianchi’s official cause of death. The East Greenbush Police Department also did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

With the cause and circumstances of his death still undisclosed, his family is now focusing on remembering the man they had welcomed into their family only months earlier.

A Message to Anyone Struggling

In his statement, Larry used the tragedy to reach out to anyone experiencing mental health difficulties, urging them not to suffer in silence.

“Please know that there is help available, and that you are never alone,” he said.

“There is always a reason to go on. There is always a reason to get up tomorrow morning. Sometimes we just need someone to remind us of those reasons.”

“Please know that you matter,” he added.

For the Bianchi and Zyra families, those words now accompany a painful farewell to a newlywed whose life ended only months after beginning a new chapter with his wife.
