Drawing from an immensely successful collection of books by Swedish author Viveca Sten, the television adaptation brings to screen the murder mystery novels Hidden in Snow and Hidden in the Shadows.
These compelling narratives belong to the distinctive Nordic noir genre, characterised by crime fiction typically told from a police perspective, unfolding against the atmospheric setting of Scandinavia or the Nordic region.

Central to the programme is detective Hanna, who, following the collapse of her relationship, takes compassionate leave and escapes to her sister’s holiday retreat in the Swedish ski resort of Åre.
