Dutton Ranch Season 2: Renewal Status, Filming Plans and Expected Release Window

The Yellowstone universe is continuing to evolve, even as one previously announced project has officially been abandoned.

Taylor Sheridan confirmed earlier this week that the proposed 6666 spinoff will not move forward. The project would have centered on the Four Sixes Ranch in Texas, which Yellowstone viewers encountered after Jimmy Hurdstrom, played by Jefferson White, was sent there during Season 4.

“There’s never going to be one,” Sheridan said during an appearance on the Rodeo Time podcast. “I would never fictionalize that ranch. People thought that that was going to be a thing, but I would never do that.”

Although 6666 has been canceled, the Yellowstone franchise remains active through Luke Grimes’ Marshals and the Beth and Rip-centered series Dutton Ranch.

He suggested that bringing Carter home will be the most immediate concern when the series returns.

“The one thing that’s más importante is that we get our kid back,” Hauser continued. “That’s going to take a couple episodes, hopefully. But Carter needs to come home.”

His comments indicate that the unresolved storyline involving Carter could drive the opening episodes of Season 2.
