Princess Beatrice’s husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, has welcomed the latest member of the family.

On Aug. 4, Beatrice’s younger sister, Princess Eugenie, 36, took to social media to announce that she and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, 40, had welcomed their third child the day prior. The baby girl, whose name has not yet been announced, joins big brothers August Philip Hawke, 5, and Ernest George Ronnie, 3.

“Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie,” Eugenie captioned a pic of the newborn on her personal Instagram page. Buckingham Palace shared the same photo, with a statement that read, in part, “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”

Edo, 42, joined thousands of friends and followers in Eugenie’s comment section, sharing a caption with three pink hearts and an angel baby emoji.

The new addition joins the line of succession to the British throne. Princess Eugenie is currently in the 12th spot, followed by her three children, making the baby 15th in the line of succession.

Meanwhile, Beatrice and her husband share daughters Sienna, 4, and Athena, 1. She is also a stepmom to 10-year-old Christopher “Wolfie” Woolf, her husband’s son from a previous relationship.

Beatrice and her daughters currently sit in the 9th, 10th and 11th spots in the line of succession. She and her sister have retained their royal titles, even though King Charles stripped their parents, the former Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, of their titles in October 2025 over renewed interest related to their relationship with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing in connection with Epstein, and Ferguson has not been accused of any. However, in February, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, related to a claim that he shared confidential information with Epstein during his time as a trade envoy for the U.K.

Following the arrest, a source told PEOPLE that Eugenie and Beatrice hoped to “stay away” from the controversy surrounding their parents for the sake of their own growing families.

“They have young children, and this is their grandfather — their focus is on protecting their own children from this,” the insider said.

Another source, a family friend, told PEOPLE in a March 2026 cover story that Beatrice and Eugenie “want to hold on to their royal status,” amid the turmoil. “It’s their identity,” the source added.a

While Beatrice and Edo’s daughters don’t currently hold royal titles in England, they did inherit Italian nobility on their father’s side. As the eldest son of Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, the princess’s husband will eventually inherit his family’s ancestral seat, the 18th-century Villa Mapelli Mozzi palace in northern Italy.
