Worst Ex Ever returned to Netflix for its second season earlier this year, exploring even more dangerous relationships, fuelled by betrayal and violence.
But as fans wait to see if the true crime doc is going to return for more, Channel 4 is airing another series that is bound to fill this void in the meantime.
Originally airing on Paramount Plus last year, Don’t Date Brandon is a three-part docu-series “about two women who had similar negative experiences in their relationships with the same man”.
This prompts the pair to start a podcast about their situations which unexpectedly unearths an even darker truth.

Its official synopsis reads: “When Amber finds out that the man of her dreams, Brandon, is a liar and a cheat, she teams up with his ex-wife, Athena, to start a podcast and warn other women.
“But as more of his ex-girlfriends come forward, they discover that Brandon isn’t just a cheat – he’s dangerous too.”
The show was originally inspired by the creation of the podcast Ex-Wives Undercover in 2020 which they launched to give a voice to his victims as well as to warn others.

Amber shared in the doc: “We always talk about Brandon being a hurricane — you’re stuck in the eye of the storm and can’t see out, but everyone else can see in.”
Their discoveries along the way led to Brandon Johnson being sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty in 2023 to assault and attempted kidnapping with intent to rape.

According to People reporting on the docu-series, Johnson also “admitted to 10 counts of attempted first-degree theft in a separate fraud case”.
All three episodes are going to be shown back-to-back this evening with the series also set to come out on Channel 4’s streamer.
Don’t Date Brandon airs tonight, Thursday, July 30, at 10pm, on Channel 4.
